please can any one help me find my grandmother.she was married to my grandfather harold cole,they had 6 children..I know alot about harold.he was born at bridlington 1878.just want to know what her maiden name was and where she came from ect".they all lived together in royston at midland road...period 1902 onwards..thanks mark

Any idea what her forename was?  The names of any of their children?  It's difficult to pin it down without any other names?

The mothers maiden name doesn’t appear on the GRO index until 1911,but there are some of the names of some of the children you mentioned in Barnsley registration district but before 1911 so no mothers maiden name given for them to be more certain.
But these after 1911 seem to be some of yours…..

Ok - In 1911 Harold (1878), Greta (1911) and Aubrey (1909) are living with [b]Bertha Annie (1887)[/b].

There's a marriage for Harold COLE to Bertha A SCUTT in Barnsley in 1910.

Cross-checking with births -

Mar 1912
COLE  Fred  Scutt  Barnsley  9c 481    

Sep 1913    
COLE  Philip D  Scutt  Barnsley  9c 456    

Mar 1915    
Cole  Alan C  Scutt  Barnsley  9c 471

So the mother's maiden name matches.

I just came across this post doing a general web search. 

Harold and Bertha Annie are my G Grandparents.

Harold and Bertha were married at the Register Office in Barnsley  on August 6 1910.
