Ferguson-McKinlay
« on: Friday 06 November 09 05:33 UTC (UK) »

James Ferguson and Elizabeth McKinlay married Callander 1786, now am looking for their births and parents..
Possibility  Huh for Elizabeth on IGI 26 Sep 1766 parents Patrick McKinlay and Christian Buchanan.
All I have to go on is the "naming pattern" of the five eldest children of James and Elizabeth.. John 1787, Christian 1789, Peter 1791, Mary 1793 Elizabeth 1794..there are five more children after these but am taking the five eldest for the time being.... so could Peter be Patrick ??.
Same applies for James (Ferguson) there is a birth 1760 parents James Ferguson and Mary McFarlane..these are all in Callander by the way, it's just that there are a wealth of Ferguson's and McKinlays in the area that I am getting a little "flummoxed".

Any ideas please.

Hi Pat

If it helps, Patrick and Peter are one of those names that are interchangeable.

There are these family descendent lines http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=AHN&db=williams146&id=I209958&ti=5538. Whilst I can't immediately see whether your line connects, I thought it might help in the future if you are able to make sense of it all  Smiley
