Hi...
I'm looking for relatives of Buchanan and Maguire in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland, and/or it's surrounding villlages/towns...
Christina Maguire b,14 Nov 1905 at 1 Peter Street, Irvine
Parents were Arthur Henry (Hendry?) Maguire, b.ca.1869, Irvine, (IGI says Hendry, b.ca.1866 Ireland), mother was Christina Buchanan,
Christina apparently had siblings:
1. John Maguire, b.08 Jan 1891, East Back Road, Irvine
2. Thomas Buchanan Maguire, b.25 Oct 1892, East Back Road, Irvine
3. Florence Skillian Maguire, b.07 Apr 1894, East Back Road, Irvine
4. Agnes Buchanan Maguire, b.17 Feb 1900, East Back Road (now East Road), Irvine
5. David Maguire, b.27 Jul 1901, Peter Street, Irvine
6. George Maguire, b.26 January, 1904, 1 Peter Street, Irvine
and in early adulthood apparently went to Yorkshire (possibly her sister Agnes as well) to become a nurse.
Christina's grandparents:
Maternal grandfather was Thomas Buchanan, her grandmother was Mary [Buchanan] McLean (?) or McLeod (?), b.ca.1867.
Paternal grandfather was John Maguire, b.ca.1827, at sea (IGI reference), d.09 Jan 1899, grandmother Florence Skillian, b.ca,1837, Ireland (IGI reference), d. 09 Jan 1918.
I am very interested in communicating with any Buchanan or Maguire who is related to the people above... my mother (now 82) is a direct descendant.
After 10 years research I started an on-line genealogy database in January with about 2,500 people... that now stands at almost 15,000!! If you are related to any of these names above, you may have new cousins waiting to hear from you right now!!
