Hi there
I am looking for some records from Cornwall and have exhausted my avenues of search sources and wondered if anyone might help.
I have 3 siblings - WILLIAM CHAPPLE 1815 CORNWALL
- SARAH CHAPPLE 1821 CORNWALL
- ELIZABETH CHAPPLE 1822 ST JUST PENWITH CORNWALL
In the 1861 census I found Elizabeth Chapple now MAY and her husband John MAY who were married in 1843 (marriage certificate 25 : Mar 1843)......... living with them was their 7 children AND Mother in Law SARAH CHAPPLE. It listed Sarah's age as 82, putting her birthdate around 1779.
I am trying to find Sarah's maiden name/ birthdate etc and her husband's details... obviously _________Chapple.
If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Ohhh Trish thanks for that! Will add those finer details for the 3 children in...
It is actually SARAH ________1779 (the mother) I wanted details for.
Can you see a marriage between Jonathon Chapple and Sarah..... AM looking for her maiden name and if possible any info on their parents.
Greatly appreciate your help :-)

Probable christening Sarah Richards;
There are a few, 1776,1778,1792
You can search for them on site link I sent you.
Also doulble check on Familysearch site.
You may be able to figure out which is correct baptism by naming pattern of Jonathon and Sarahs chldren.

For being new to research you are doing well I have only been researching 2 yrs and you learn as you go. Rootschat has been very good too me and all the wonderful people on here. Now I try and give back.
I think Jonathons parents are Joseph and Catherine, as there is a baptism on Familysearch that does not seem to appear on Cornwall site.

Oh Wow I went off for dinner and now my line is almsot complete lol
You are a wonder thanks! I am like a sponge, sucking up all the info I can on where to find things and new sources. I think it helps us "newbies" and gives a sense of satisfaction to find things for ourselves, even if it's after some prompting from old hands.

Hi there,
If you come across any CHAPPLE lot in that era, with first or middle name of "Jehu" please let me know, it is often mis transcribed as "John" but within the family there is a tradition of handing in down the males as a middle name of "Jehu" - Biblical origins. I am a descendant of Chapple, but by early 1800's my line were at Baltonsborough in Somerset.
