Dunbarton Churchyard - address
« on: Sunday 19 April 09 05:21 UTC (UK) »

I would like to know exactly where to locate the Dunbarton Churchyard so that I can photograph the grave of my ancestor when I visit in May

Hi Shirley,
Have a look on Google maps for the UK. The town is Dumbarton and the county Dunbartonshire - note the 'm' and 'n'. Look for Church Street/Church Court - then change to satellite view - there appears to be a church with a green area next to it but no gravestones. Hopefully someone a bit nearer can help - I'm in Australia!
When you go would you be prepared to let me know and possibly photograph any Dunwoody graves? If so I will PM you with possible names.
Thanks

Have a look at
Dumbarton Cemetery which also has links to some others in West Dunbartonshire.

Hi, It is on the High St Dumbarton town centre. Just ask a passer by when in town.
Good luck.

Thanks everyone

I will only have one day in Dunbarton and if I have time I will try to photograph other graves. Give me a list and I will do what I can. It would be most helpful if you can give me exact location of each graves.

Hi Shirley,
From Joe's post on your other thread, it appears my ancestors are buried in Milburn Churchyard, Renton and not Dumbarton.
Thanks anyway for your offer.
