John Burgoyne and Family, Dundalk, 1860s
« on: Monday 06 April 09 04:36 UTC (UK) »

Does any reader of the Co. Louth board recall ever seeing references in the area to a John Burgoyne,  civil engineer?  On 15 January 1867 his daughter Cleopatra Cecilia Burgoyne married William Power at St Peter's (Anglican) Church,  Dundalk;  but the duration of his residence in the county may have been fairly short,  if he was just there for one specific construction project.  Ca. 1852 another daughter called Maria Theresa Burgoyne had been born at Newbridge Co. Kildare.

To avoid duplication it would be best if any responses to this request could be posted in a thread that is already running  about Cleopatra on the Northumberland board.  Accordingly I shall immediately lock this cross-reference topic.

Here is the link:  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,371267.0.html .  (The full reference to the Dundalk wedding appears in reply no. 6.)
