Hi all, Have just about finished the family tree on my mother's side and have just started on my fathers side. My parents divorced when I was ten and we moved to Ireland. My birth father died last year and we did not keep in contact at all.He had no interest in knowing us although I have alway kept in touch with my aunt(his sister). Beause of my aunt and my paternal gandparents, and because it IS my family history I decided to research this side of my family. My gran was a McGruer who were all church of Scotland and she married my granda who was Catholic. My aunt says that the McGruers came from Cullen and the name is quite rare. I am just wondering is Cullen in Baffshire or does it belong to another county?
I would appreciate any help
Annette

Isles, thanks for your reply! Alexander is my gr gr gr gr grandfather.I managed to get a couple of census' for the family and have both Alexander and Helens baptismal details from the old parish registers on line. I still have a lot of research to do,will get into that once the kids go back to school tomorrow after the Easter break!
Thanks again Annette
