Waterford City Library, Lady Lane, Waterford City, has a newspaper index from 1884 to 1948, you could write to them and ask them to search for a death notice.

I haven't been able to find anything online, Irish records are hard to come by.  Your best bet may be the Waterford Library.

Why don't you just write to the Registrar of Births deaths and Marriages.
