looking for information on father and mother of alfred wilkinson, born circa 1869, place unknown, (father john wilkinson, mother mary burkett), Alfred's marriage to elizabeth henderson was at Castle craig lodge, newlands in 1890, certificate shows him as a veterinary student and his father as a farmer (deceased). His address at that time was 99 Broughton street edinburgh. It looks as if elizabeth had a sister mary jane henderson who was married the same day to James Milne welsh. Marriage cert attached.
Can anyone help

Hi Lookin and mrs a

Alfred shows as born in England on the 1891 census:

From the parents' names you have on that marriage entry, there is this possible marriage for Alfred's parents on FreeBmd www.freebmd.org.uk

Also from FreeBmd, a possible birth for Alfred:
Births 2nd Qrt 1867 - Alfred Wilkinson in Cockermouth, vol. 10b Pg. 499
Possible 1871 census entry - everyone showing as born in Crosthwaite, Cumberland:
John Wilkinson 52, Yeoman occupying 200 acres Mary Wilkinson 35 John Wilkinson 6 Alfred Wilkinson 3 Christopher Wilkinson 10 months John Bell 30 Mary Plasket 15
Castlerigg St John, Cockermouth RG10; Piece: 5236; Folio: 17

Hi Mrs a, It's been a very good week for me. Thank you for the offer of pictures of Castle Craig, they would be gratefully accepted I can assure you.
Monica, I can't thank you enough, I have been struggling for a long time, and making very little progress. I am still a bit of a learner at this as I am sure you can see. I am amazed at the blank spaces you have managed to fill, so quickly.
Thank you all very much for your help and I hope I can find an opportunity to return the favours.
