Dower, Nicholas Birth

I have a Nicholas Dower who immigrated to the US in the 1860's and died in Massachuesetts in 1900. Based on variouis records he would have been born between 1844 and 1846, his parents on his marriage and death record are listed as John and Catherine (no last name given). Based on family tradition they have said that he was from County Waterford. He may have immigrated by himself. I do have in New York passenger list a Nich Dower immigrating in March of 1867 age 22. Only Dower on this ship. Any help would be apreciated.

There are 77 entries for John Dower from Waterford between 1800 - 1900 on http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html  some might give you a lead.
