W.Luffman Private 5901

W.Luffman Private 5901 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment was killed on the 3rd December 1914 in Belgium. The only other information I have was that his wife was Z Davis of South Wales; and that he may have been born in Poole. Poole reference library unable to help. Can any Rootschatter assist please?

Problems: This one was always going to be difficult. The information I have states that his wife was Z. Davies; there are 2 possible marriages on Free BMD 1) Sept 1907 Newport 11a409 Wilfred Luffman and Edith Davies; 2) Dec 1911Newport 11a484 William Luffman and Mabel E Davies. He was born at Redledge Salisbury Wilts. Only one possible registration for a W Luffman in Wiltshire William Luffman March 1883. He seems rather old to have been a private soldier at this stage (Dec 1914) of the war. Any suggestions please?

Thanks Pauline, Though the marriage, if the right one, did not take place until 8 months after the census, however, I do have his inlaws' address in 1914, so might be worth it.
