Just checking through the local preachers index:

Name         Dates         Last Reference
C. West           1863-64             1903, died at West Wycombe

Sorry to keep talking, but finding out more

The man J West was Joshua West and he was listed in 1885 as a Trustee of the West Wycombe Wesleyan Chapel. Also an 1885 trustee is a Charles West.

West Wycombe Chapel
'Many names of the first trustees... West ... recur well into this twentieth century.

Thanks Matt, the C. West rings a bell.  That was Charles - and somewhere I remember something about him being a lay preacher.

Unfortunately I don't have a Joshua West in the family at the moment.

Thanks for your time. Regards. R.

Hello Royd

Sorry I missed you earlier.  Evening out - wedding anniverary!

High Wycombe Wesleyan Methodist Circuit Volume One - Baptisms 1792-1862 has 16 instances of the name WEST.  Volume Two - Baptisms 1863-1892 has 11 instances of the surname, including the baptism of a Walter Charles to James and Alice WEST of Bledlow Ridge in 1876 (born 1874).  Volume Three has only two instances of the surname.

Orpheus,

Do you mind telling me if there is a Walter William Cutler baptised at Lane End please  Roll Eyes His father was a trustee of the chapel there so I thought it would make sense if he is baptised there, seeing as he isn't mentioned in the Anglican Registers

Regards,
Matt

Edited: It would be about 1861 ish

Hello Matt

Walter William son of Reuben and Sarah Ann CUTLER of Lane End was baptised on 5 June 1860.  His date of birth is given as 22 Apr 1860.

Thanks for getting back to me Orpheus and a very happy anniversary!

On the IGI I think most of my Wests were baptised at St. Lawrence's West Wycombe but I am not sure about my gt. Grandfather Walter William West who was born in 1854, his son William Ewart West born 1889 and his son, (my  father) William George West born 1913.

I have had a quick look at the book site and am more than willing to purchase any if they are relevant.

Could you advise me on anything here.

Many thanks. R.

Sorry Royd I can't find any of those in the books.  Maybe they are in the West Wycombe registers as I don't believe the later ones are on the IGI.

Hi Matt, have been looking for the George Druce but I can't find this one unfortunately.  He must be from another lot of Druce's!!!

The Frances is mine though but I think you have already sent me those details.  Will check.

I'm very grateful for your time.  R.
