Walter McFarlan, 74th Argyll Highlanders

I'm trying (fruitlessly) to flesh out the life of Walter McFarlan(e) who mustered out of the 74th Argyll Highlanders at St. Andrews, Nova Scotia (now New Brunswick). Walter was likely born at Buchanan, Stirling, Scotland. Would anyone have any idea where records for enlisted men for this regiment during this period are now located?

Let me add the muster date 1783 which means I'm trying to locate a source for records dating to the period of about 1775 to 1783 for Walter and the 74th.
