Hi All
I have just last night managed to trace my x3rd great grandparents after about 3 years of looking you can imagine how excited i was when i read there names for the first time
i found them on 1861 census and was ready to search back to 1851 but to no avail , there is no trace of them in 1851 or 1841
in 1861 they are as below
Joseph Poole born 1817 Normanton Derbyshire , living Derby , Publican
Martha Poole ( Wife ) 1827 Farmborough Warwickshire
William Poole ( Son ) 1852 Derby
Emma Poole ( Dau ) 1846 Derby
my x2 gt grandmother Annie Poole was born in 1861 however must be shortly after this census was taken , in 1891 when Annie Married her father was listed as deceased

Just had a look at your 1861 census at it says Joseph born Normanton Notts and not Derbyshire

i have seen Annie poole in the 1871 census living with her aunt and uncle in Smisby
household
Thomas Wilton head married , 51 ? , railway labourer , derby smisby
Mary Wilton , Wife , married , 58 , " , Normanton
Annie Poole , Niece , Unm , 9 , Scholar , Derby
Mary was Mary Poole but she is the only other Poole relation i can find in my tree :-(

I see Mary Poole didnt get married till 1850 to Thomas Wilton. Have you got Joseph and Martha on the 1871 census

no , maybe they had both passed away as she is only 9 and living with her aunt and uncle , on the other hand i can't see mary on earlier census records or Annies brother and sister on 1871
it is a rather tricky family to research

Hi,
Derby Mercury Wednesday June 3rd 1857
DEATH
On the 21st ult., (MAY) after a few hours illness, Caroline, wife of Mr. Joseph Poole,
"Bishop Blaze", Morledge, Derby aged 38 much and deservedly respected.
Her death is recored in Civil Registration as POOL, June Quarter 1857 Derby 7b 219.
Hope this assists, as you now have the name of the Public House in which they were living.
