Hi, I was wondering if someone could do a census lookup for Richard Anderson born about 1800 who worked as a mechanic in 1849 on his daughter, Elizabeth Anderson's marriage certificate. She was born 1829 and lived on Hope Street, Derby in 1849. Any information about him and his wife would be fantastic. Thanks.

Hi Burto,
There seems to be only one Richard Anderson in Derbyshire in 1851:
1851 HO107/2143 282 27 Derby St Peter 6 Eagle Street Richard Anderson, head, 56, Millwright, b. Derby Ann, wife, 44, b. Crich Frederick Swindell, son, 17, Clerk to Colone(?) Maker, b. Derby
Searching for an Elizabeth Anderson with a father Richard in 1841, again, this seems the only family:
1841 HO107/199/11 39 1 Derby St Peter Eagle Street Richard Anderson, 45, Millwright Margaret, 45 Elizabeth, 15, Silk winder Henry, 12, Net Threader William Davis, 14, ditto David Davis, 12, ditto
All born in county
Not sure?

Hi Tati, That's definately them in 1841-William Davis is down as a witness on the marriage certificate! So Margaret must have died? Elizabeth's occupation on the certificate is mill hand, so it seems to be in keeping with the Richard Anderson in both entries?

Hi Tati, Why would the Davis children keep their mother's name? How would I find out who Elizabeth's mother was? I can't see any baptisms on Familysearch in Derbyshire between 1826-1829?

Hi Tati, What records, other than the IGI, might other people have? Just so I can ask for the right thing! Thanks.
