Looking for information on Elizabeth Sarah McEwen, born abt 1854 in Achill, Mayo.  Her parents were Richard McEwen and Jane McNaught.  Elizabeth married Samuel Frederick Sussex Milford in 1877 in Queensland, Australia.  Thank you.

by my reckoning Elizabeth McEwan is my great great grandmother. I have also seen her name  recorded as Lizzie Sarah McKone on the Queensland Births deaths and Marriages site.

There son Herman George Milford and Angela Mary Murphy had a daughter, Grace Gladys who in turn gave birth to my father, Douglas. There is no recorded father.

Hi Jindym,

Elizabeth McEwen is my great grandmother. Her son Samuel Frederick was my grandfather, his son Charles Frederick, my father.  So I guess we are distant cousins of some sort.  I haven't been able to get any further information on Elizabeth's parents, Richard and Jane, unfortunately.  I live on the Gold Coast, by the way.

Regards,

Hi emjaye

As you say we are probably distant cousins. I would be interested in sharing family information. I have only just started on this and a bit of a beginner when it come sto the research. FYI I am a Milford and live in Jindabyne NSW but my father was from Brisbane.

Who knows the next step could be a trip to England and Ireland. I understand that Actill is a really beautiful place.

Cheers
