Andy,

Thanks for that Information.

If Robert was illegitimate then I've gone down the wrong line, I have his father as Robert and his mother Mary (Wendy). From there I go all the way back on Mary's side to 1680ish with the Pych and Connesby families! Thought it was too good to be true!

Is there any clue as to his fathers identity? Did Mary work as a Servant or Agricultural Labourer? Or, was she a little lacking in the morals department?Huh??

As for the Death side, I know her husbands Joseph's mothers and fathers names were Charles Death and Diana Smith but beyond that I can't find anything at the moment.

As for the e-mails, I haven't seen anything as of yet, did you try the "PM" set up?

David

Sorry for the delay - you are barking up the wrong (family) tree and getting mixed up with the families at Meldreth. There John Loats married Susannah Connesby on July 19th 1762. Their first child was named Robert LOTES at Meldreth on January 30th 1763 and identified as a son 'of John & Susannah'.
Do you want the pedigree of 'our' Robert Loats/Loates/Lotts?  Andy

Andy,

Thought I might have been from what you put in your last post!

If you don't mind that would be excellent.

Andy,

Did Robert marry a Martha Saunders on 8 Dec 1824?

I've find quite a few references to this on many sites and the dates and places seem to fit.

I couldn't resist making this post as my research often takes me to Cambridge Place, the major surnames I am researching are Brigne(a)ll and Willis. Don't worry about the early age of marriage, in this community early marriage was normal, I have several under sixteens, and I think that mine have an average at marriage of 17 approx, and this would be for both sexes, though the men were usually slightly older, but still in their teens. I am perturbed about the statement that the 1861 census is missing, as I'm sure I have used it in my research. What are the details please?

Roger,

What I mean by "Missing" is that I personally can't find them on it. A bad choice of phrase on my part I'm afraid.

Thanks for that David, I took it to mean the census was missing, not the individuals, this often happens if people are away from home they sometimes do not get recorded; equally they sometimes get recorded at both their home and temporary addresses.
