Hi,
Can someone please tell me if a "farm overseer" is the same as a "farmer"?if its not then perhaps i can eliminate s few folk  Cheesy
I'm looking for a death of "James Durward " (possibly mis-spelt as Dorward).in Kincardineshire after 1934 but before 1902.
I know he & my g-g-g-grandmother were not married at time of their son's birth, so whether "James " died after, or they married or just didnt marry is a mystery,as Ann had another son later to another person.....but still used her own surname "taylor"/as well as Durward through life .

Hi Snowolf.  A farm overseer is basically a foreman who supervises the farm work.  The Scottish version is called a 'grieve'.
