Old Meldrum Cemetery

Hi
I noticed in some old postings that someone had been kind enough to go to Old Meldrum Cemetery and find the full inscriptions on a particular stone.

I had got the following notes from a web site but not the full inscriptions so I would be incredibly grateful for a photo of the stone or the transcription of the Thomson's stone. The first two names are definitely my Gt Gt Gt Grandparents (found thanks to some kind rootschat members) but I'm not sure where the others fit.

Names and dates on Stone Number 21:
John   THOMSON    29 Sep 1859
Ann   NAUGHTON 1 Jun 1872
David THOMSON 20 Apr 1896
Elizabeth THOMSON   13 Jun 1896
William DEN 6 Nov 1906
Jane   THOMSON   29 Dec 1907

I have a lot of difficulty getting to any library etc to view any published transcriptions so I would be very grateful for any help any one can offer.

Just posting this in case you can confirm anything on him later. There is only one William Den showing in 1901 (any age/ anywhere in Aberdeen), so happens in Old Meldrum  Roll Eyes

Isabella Webster 35, housekeeper, b. Udny, Aberdeenshire
Willimina Webster 12, Daur Of Housekeeper
Maggie Webster 11, Daur Of Housekeeper

William Den may have been married to a Thomson? From 1891:

William Den 68, Inspector of the Poor, b. Meldrum
Elizabeth Den 70, wife b. Meldrum
Jane Thomson    77, sister in law, b. Meldrum
Andrew Dickie 77, boarder, Minister of N P Church
Elsie Johnston 18,servant

From the previous post on your family www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,376302.0.html we had this 1851 census entry:

John Thompson 72, Farmer (240) Acres Employing, b. Old Deer, Aberdnshire
Ann Thompson 68, b. Old Deer, Aberdnshire
Jean Thompson 31, daughter b. Meldrum
Eliza Thompson 30, daughter b. Meldrum

Address: Tullo, Old Meldrum

I wonder if the Elizabeth who married William Dun on 09 FEB 1858 Old Meldrum was John and Ann's daughter. A late marriage for her, can't see any children from the marriage on the censuses.

Hopefully, someone may have access to the transcription to confirm the details for you.

Now why couldn't I find William Den in the censuses when I checked mind you I was looking at the Free cen web site - any way thank you again - this is brilliant!

There seems to be a trend to late marriages in this family Elizabeth's brother John was 47 when he first married.
