DUVAL(L) in Steventon

Can anyone help, or point me to to online or local resources which would help,  identify the whereabouts of the DUVAL(L) family in Steventon c1918 - 1920?

The family would be Alfred and Evelyn Duval(l) with  Joan Agnes (b. 1910), Claude Victor (b.1911), Paula Patricia (b. 1918 d. 1918), Patricia (b. 1920)

It's possible that they were at one of the pubs in the village.

Hi Andy,

           Dont know if this helps but from Steventon PRs it gives Alfred as Licensed victualler

of Railway House at the baptism of Patricia in 1921.

Was the surname spelled with a single or double 'L', and did Patricia have an additional given name?

Do you know if there are records of licensed victuallers which might indicate when he took over the pub?

Andy.... Name is spelt with just one L Cheesy

Patricia also has middle name Valda on her baptism Grin Grin

Sorry but not sure where you could find out more info on the family.. what about Google Undecided

If you search on Google there's a photo of the pub on the Francis Frith page.  I think it's the pub that's now called The Fox.

Thanks for that Sue.

Alfred's father was a double 'L', I'm trying to work out when (and why) Alfred dropped the last L.

Thanks also for the confirmation of Patricia's middle name. It's unusual and as far as I know she never used it, I found it on a hand written family tree and wanted to confirm it was right.

Could I trouble you again, to check the PR for a burial for Paula Patricia?

It's the Cherry Tree, once I knew he was at The Railway House I looked it up  Smiley

They're next door to each other.  I always get them mixed up  Embarrassed .  I know it was the one opposite the entrance to the railyard.
