Can anyone help me further with;
MARY PEMEL born 1817 Heathfield Sussex
She married John Marchant in St. Leonards C of E Shoreditch London in 1846
In 1851 Census her residence was Brighton Sussex.
I have her father as John!

Hi
I tried looking for her baptism on the Sussex Family History Group baptism database but unfortunately the Heathfield church baptisms only go to 1789.
Presumably her father John came from her marriage certificate?

Presumably you have seen the record on familysearch.org that has her baptism at St Leonards, Shoreditch in 1832, born 1827 and that is not the right one?

Hmmm
I checked the Sussex Marriage Index to see if I could find a marriage for a John Pemel but nothing there at all.

Thank you 'maidmarianoops' I have earmarked this sight - really great. I have found another line in my tree, so will look further there. Sussex here I come!
Now 'kerryb'
I had not looked at familysearch.org, but now have and find it correct;
Mary born 1827 Christened 1832; Father John and Mother Ann. Thank you for your suggestion of that site.
That now says to me that the 1851 Census is incorrect as it says that Mary was 34 years old (i.e. born 1817 Heathfield Sussex)
I have found in Ancestry.com - marriages both John Marchant and Mary Pemell;
1846 jan-feb-mar Shoreditch London V2 P383
Now they show two girls in the 1851 Census Elizabeth 2 and Eleanor 4.
I have Eleanor's marriage certificate; At Brighton in 1871 to James Walsh and it says her father was John -deceased - and a builder
So, if Mary Pemell was born 1827 in Shoreditch and married in Shoreditch in 1846 -had moved to Brighton at the Census 1851 where the 2 girls were born,
could her parents, John & Ann been married St Leonards, Shoreditch just before 1827?
