Elizabeth Brotherick m. 1758 - Bampton
« on: Saturday 25 April 09 22:20 UTC (UK) »

I have found a marriage for William Beechey to Elizabeth Brotherick on 5th Nov 1758 in Bampton.  I cannot find a baptism entry for Elizabeth anywhere in the Bampton parish records either under Brotherick or Broderick in the HughWallis Bampton parish records online.

Could anyone else check this marriage for me to see where she came from please.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Steph

I have checked that marriage in the transcripts (OFHS),

1758 Nov 5th
William Beechy (x) to Elizabeth Brotherick (x) both of the parish
witnessed by Edward Skinner & Philip Hill

so no clues sorry - I don't think the witnesses are much of a clue either, they seem to crop up on a lot of the marriages about that time

Undecided

Never mind, thanks for your efforts it is appreciated.

Just as a point of interest, I do have William's son Richard marrying a Mary Skinner and I've got the Skinners going almost as far back as the Beecheys so obviously a local, well-known family in what I would think was a small community.  It's just the Brothericks that are a complete dead end!

Kind Regards
