« on: Saturday 25 April 09 09:26 UTC (UK) »

I have recieved a marriage cert this morning for Thomas Forsyth and Louisa Allen, they are married at St John's church Derby. Their residence at time of marriage for both of these is Noel R, can anyone tell me what this means.

Where is each of them living in 1881 census which would have been some months before their marriage?

That might give a clue, if it was in the same area as their marriage took place.

Hi!
There is a Noel Street which is about a 10 minute walk from St John"s on Bridge St. It was there in 1891 and still appears on the maps just off the Ashbourne Rd.

Yes G was saying 10 minutes from church at which they married St Johns.

Try http://maps.google.com/

They have street view ie like Web Cam on Ashbourne and the following should take you to view down Noel St - especially  the pub on corner but the google camera did not get down Noel maybe later

Click for Noel St corner
