Strang-Paterson Early-mid 1800s
« on: Friday 24 April 09 02:09 UTC (UK) »

I am hoping some of you with past Strang/Paterson posts can help me please ....

I am trying to extend the ancestry of Christian or Christina Strang, born 20 AUG 1807 in Dollar Clackmannan to parents John Strang and Ann Roy (extracted IGI record familysearch.org).  She married James Paterson or Paterson on 16 FEB 1828 in Dollar Clackmannan (extracted IGI record familysearch.org).  Several of their children emigrated to Illinois in the USA.  Robert Paterson was born in Fife in 1839  (obituary on file).  This family is shown in the 1841 Dunfermline Fife census with an address as "Townhill" (ancestry.com) and in the 1851 Saline Parish Dunfermline Fife census with an address as "Bellorophon".

Christian or Christina Strang Patterson died in 1872 in Braidwood, Will County IL (monument picture on file).  Her children who settled in Illinois USA married Paterson, Bonar, Meiklejohn, McKinley, and Oswald.  Her children who stayed in Scotland married Fyfe, Ferguson, and Paterson.

Can anyone here connect to extend the ancestry of Christian Strang or can connect to extend her Scottish descendency beyond her grandchildren?  Thanks!
