All of which Bob Dawson has listed as verified Gypsy surnames.

I can't pick out anything relating to Paul. But Towner is in there. Suspiciously close, given the rest of the crew there.

Hi Steve thanks for your reply

I actually emailed Bob Dawson some time ago and he said he had given all his things to Romany & Traveller Family History Society.

Do you know if there is any information on there regarding Sarah Young and John McDonald?
or is it just information on their family surnames in general?

Hyah, Sarah. By " On ", I take it mean In, as in the book? (I don't know about the RTFHS site. Worth a look / Subscription?)

That aside; Bob's book, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't really get into the level of individuals. But both Young and McDonald are venerably old Gypsy surnames. Ye certainly looking at a pedigree line there  Wink

Hi Sarah,

Do you have Sarah Young's birth, marriage or death cert's? or do you know her parents names, I have 3 Sarah Young's in my tree, not your dates though  Sad.

But the naming tradition would fit in with 2 of my great uncles one died in Edinburgh the other in Coatbridge.

Yours Jane
