As Riddings is 2-3 Miles from Alfreton it may come under Chesterfield.

Sue, Wendy is almost certainly correct but if you want to check with the RO districts list, why not lookup someone of your lot on freebmd who was registered there for a B, D  or M  and check it by clicking on the Reg. number given- it will take you to the list of places in that number group.

Thanks for the tip Charlotte, I tried your suggestion and came up with "Belper", it does cover Ripley and Alfreton although Riddings and Somercotes aren't listed they are nearby so I must make an educated guess that it is indeed Belper - by the way Alfreton moved to Chesterfield in 1968 - so good call Wendy.
