Hi,

Hope these can shed some light on the family. Smiley

Address: St James' Street, St Cuthbert's, Edinburgh
William Roberts, 50, marble mason (journeyman), b. outside county
Joseph Roberts, 24, marble cutter, b. in county
Margaret Roberts, 20, -, b. in county
James Roberts, 17, cabinetmaker (apprentice), b. in county
Mary Roberts, 14, seamstress, b. in county
John Roberts, 11, -, b. in county

Address: Garden Street, Wallacetown, Ayrshire
James Roberts, head, mar., 26, cabinet maker, b. Edinburgh, Midlothian
Cathrene Roberts, wife, mar., 22, -, b. Glasgow, Lanarkshire
Elisebeth Roberts, dau., unm., 2 months, -, b. St Quivox, Ayrshire

Births for Joseph and Margaret (born 1817 and 1821, respectively, in North Leith) shows parents as William Roberts and Elisabeth Fenton. They married 1812 in North Leith (IGI extracted) and it also shows Elisabeth's father as Joseph Fenton.

Have you any idea where the family went after 1851? I tried to find them in 1861 and the following census, but I didn't have any luck. A maiden name for Cathrene would help confirm the findings above, and find any other children.
