Howard RICKARD 1883 - Botallack
« on: Wednesday 29 April 09 06:51 UTC (UK) »

Howard was the fourth child of Richard Rickard and Lydia (surname unknown).   He was born in 1883 at Botallack, St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall, England.   His year of birth is calculated on the basis that on the 1891 census he is recorded as being 8 years of age.   He married in the June quarter 1908 in the District of Penznace.

Questions
1. Do we known the name of the lady he married?
2. Can we confirm his year of birth/christening?
3. Are records available (at this stage) to let us know when he died?

Regards

Hi Peter,

Most likely birth registration:

Enoder Howard Rickard Sep 1882 Penzance 5c 287

Probable death:
Howard E Rickard age 33
Dec 1915 Penzance 5c 296

The 1911 census index suggests that his bride was Elizabeth Davies Semmens

Good Evening Tati

You have hit the jackpot as "Enoder" has been a traditional first name of family members for the best part of 250 years.

Regards and Best Wishes    Wink

Hi

Richard Rickard = Lydia THOMAS
sept q 1877
Penzance
5c 399

Pascoe (b 1869), the eldest son appears in the 1871 census as a step son

1871
Tenement of Botallack
Pascoe head 64
Elenor wife 64
Emma dau 37 unmar
Ellen dau 30 ditto
Richard son 27 ditto
Caroline dau 25 ditto
Pascoe T step son 2 b St Just

So it seems your Howard is the 3rd born child of Richard and Lydia.

Looking for a birth of  Pascoe bc 1869 penzance only comes up with a Pascoe T Rickard in registered in St Columb. There is,  however a birth of;
Pascoe THOMAS in 1869 Penzance which is rather a coincidence with Richard Rickard marrying a Lydia THOMAS in 1877. Undecided
