Please can anyone tell me in which Catholic church a baby born in Fontstown in the 1920s would have been baptised?  Is there a Catholic church in Fontstown, and if not which is the nearest?

Fontstown is in the catholic parish of Narraghmore.

CatholicIreland.net

The Kildare Parish online site has only church records up to 1900 and Narraghmore is not included yet.

hi im stephen and i have lived in fontstown all my life, the church
you are looking for is  st ita's kilmeade, my aunts and uncles and mum are all from fontstown and that is the church they were baptized in, in the 1920's

Hi,

Don't know if it will help, but some of my rellies were born in Fontstown in the 1920's and were baptised in St.Michael's in Athy.

I was told by a chap who owns the sweet shop/bar in Athy that Fontstown was on the main Dublin to Kildare road and there is now a caravan park there.

Many thanks for your replies  I will contact the churches you mentioned.

A further question to those of you who know Fontstown - do you know a family called Keegan?  I am trying to find out what became of Sarah Keegan, born there in the 1920s.
