Hi Eddie, are there any further clues from the censuses?  I should be going to Hereford record office in a couple of weeks so if there are a couple of parishes, I'm happy to have a look for you.

Thank you for the offfer, that will be great.
Only place stated in all the sensus is Hereford.
He was a Bricklayer/Builder so hopefully he may have followed on from his father

No joy I'm afraid.  I searched through the following parishes between the years 1800 - 1810, but without success:
All Saints,
St John the Baptist,
St Martin,
St Nicholas, and
St Owen.

In the records of Hereford St Peter there was a Samuel Hawkyard, base born son of Elizabeth Symonds bn Feb 6th, ch April 23rd 1806, but that was the closest match I could find.

Holy Trinity's records start at 1885 and St James starts at 1870.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help,

Thank you Spidermonkey for your time and effort.
really appreciated.
Doesn't look like the person i am looking for but stranger things have turned up before.
Looks like another brick wall but something may turn up eventually
