Hambledon parish registers COMPLETED

Just wondering if some kind person could look up  Alice Mitchell born Witley 1859,  I have not found her up until she Married George Moorey in September 1886  Hambledon Surrey BMD 2A 217. Looking for with her parents and possibly siblings.

Looking at the eldest child's age in relation to the marriage date it looks as if she could have been married before - hence she will not be under Mitchell at birth or early censuses.

1881 has 3 Alices born at right time in Witley:

Alice Blackford, Alice Cheesman and Alice Street.

Alice Street marries Ap/May/Jun 1884, Hambledon, ref 2a 209, with groom being Frederick Mitchell.

(ALice Cheesman marries 1882 to George Boxall, havent found marriage for Blackford)

So it is highly possible that your lady was born Alice Street, married 1884 to Frederick Mitchell, had Albert, was widowed and then married George Moorey.
But you will need some certs to confirm.

Alice Street in 1881 is a servant (RG11 833 6 6 )

Have you the birth cert of any of her children? That will hopefully cofirm her previous names.

Dont get too excited though, I cant find a death for Frederick Mitchell (should have looked for that first before following Alice Street up!)

added - but the good news is, there doesnt seem to be a Fredrick and Alice Mitchell (with Alice bn Witley) on 1891 - so maybe we are on the right track...

Think that snitches it - dont you.

Hopefully when the birth cert is viewed it will say mum was previously Mitchell nee Street.
