Not sure without sending for the death cert if anyone could help me before I do so, as want to make sure hes my man, what I wish to know is if his wife or registry of death is a catherine maria balls as Next of kin. 

I reckon I will have so spend out 7.00 as not sure if theres any records I could look up anywhere

Hi

Sorry - deaths cannot be looked up at the records office - you have to buy the cert

Deaths could be reported by anybody - not necessarily a relative

I'm afraid that Carole is right.  Even if someone looked at the burial record (best that anyone could do at HALS) for you they would not be able to tell you the cause of death or next of kin. Sad 

You may have to bite the bullet and buy the cert.
