Hello everyone
Looking for any information on Robert Hunter and his wife Catherine McIndoe. I can't find Robert anywhere. I believe he was living in Renfrewshire, possibly Eastwood as his daughter Catherine married Hugh Todd st Eastwood Manse, 28 March 1886. So I'm a bit stuck at this point. Pleased to hear from anyone with the Hunter/Todd/Mcindoe connections
Regards Kathleen

Hello Mariac
Yes, it certainly looks like the same family. They are my late husband's ancestors. I have Hugh Todd marrying Catherine Hunter at Eastwood Manse on 28 March 1886, Hugh is 20 and Catherine 18. Parents are listed as John Todd and Jane Purdie, Robert Hunter and Catherine McIndoe.
How are you connected to them.
Regards Kathleen Todd

If you're interested Thornliebank pretty much owes it's existence to the Calico printworks, and it attracted many workers from Northern Ireland. I suppose you could say your families are classic Thornliebank-ers.
There's more information here http://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/heritage/heritage_places/heritage_thornliebank.htm and some photos here from East Renfrewshire's archives: http://tiny.cc/thornliebankprintworks

Hello Damnonii
Thank you for your information, yes the Printfield was the employer of a lot of my Hunter and Todd family. Thornliebank played a big role in my late husband's life, he was a member of the Thornliebank Accordian Band for many years, we would visit Thornliebank often when we used to return to Scotland on Holiday.
Regards Kathleen

Thanks Mariac for that information, it's a great help and will take me further back in my tree. I don't know why Robert Hunter couldn't be found when I searched, but no matter. How are you connected to them yourself.
