hi chatters  i have moved to another branch in my tree and another scottish

county.   i am trying to find out what happened to the members of this family

after the 1871 census.   margarets line i have as she is a drylie but william and

the children disapear after the 1871 census.

william McAlpine born abt 1841  possibly in bathgate Parents?Huh

the children of william and margaret

Ellen cunningham mcalpine   born nov 28 1864 in newbattle

agnes  born feb 9 1867  bathgate

peter drylie mcalpine born apr 8 1869 in bathgate

agnes died in 1879 at the age of 15

the mother margaret died in 1912 but what happened to the rest of them?Huh

Maybe I've not got the right family but as far as can see from Ancestry Margaret is living with Alexander Anderson from 1871 - 1901 at Bathgate along with her children in 1871 & 1881 who match exactly with the extracts from the IGI.

What's really confusing me is that Agnes is with them in 1881 and yet you say she died in 1879.

all i have on this family is what somebody else sent to me and i am just

now trying to find out where they all ended up the item about agnes dying at the

age of 15 was also given to me by somebody else you do have the right family

as when her first marriage broke up she marry alexander anderson.  i am not

sure where she got the info about agnes  unles it is a different agnes that

actually died and the two got mixed in her file.  so if any of them immigrated or

married it was after 1881?   i will email her and repost with what she tells me thank you for what you did find    beans

agnes died in 1882 margaret drylie  died in 1912 as did william mcalpine.

she did have 3 children to alexander anderson who depending on where you

look are listed as either anderson or mcalpine however on margaret drylie

mcalpine/anderson birth cert it states that her husband is not the father of this

child as they have had no personal relationship for 15 years.   so the three

children to alexander anderson are illegimate as he and margaret never

married.  that still does not help me find out where ellen and peter and   

margaret and euphemia and wilhemina mcalpine anderson ended up.  so what

i have been able to find out has not helped with the original query.  what

became of these 5 children?Huh
