Wellingtonbridge - details of a childs death. COMPLETED
« on: Friday 01 May 09 18:41 UTC (UK) »

My great grandfather, who was acting RIC Sergeant at the time, lost his 1st wife in Wellingtonbridge on 4th April, 1904.  They had 1 daughter who I know nothing about only that she died as a child a few years later.  My father thinks she was buried in a cemetery in Ballylannon.  Is there one there?

My great grandfather re-married in 1905, and had 2 sons before retiring in 1910.  He then bought some land in Ballyowen, Wellingtonbridge.  2 more sons were born and I have a note that they were baptised at Clongeen and their births were registered at Raheen.  I believe that the girl was dead by the time my great grandfather moved the family in to Wexford town.

I'd like to find out about my grandfather's half sister, as he remembered her fondly.  I don't have her name or when she died, so I don't know for sure if it was before or after my great grandfather retired.

Can anyone tell me where I could start looking?

My great grandfather was John Rattigan and his 1st wifes maiden name was Bridget Oates.  I guess their daughter could have been named after one of her grandmothers.  I know that my great great grandmother Rattigan was Elizabeth, but I've no details on Bridget's family.
