Hi Christopher, Thank you for your reply ,it is much appreciated.I have traced the O'Rourkes from a marriage of Mark Rourke to Mary Hayes in 1798 in Wexford Town to the present day, i have over 500 names in the tree at the moment but they all had big families so there are still a lot of gaps to be filled in.The O'Rourkes were butchers and Cattle Dealers throughout the generations until the 1990's,when their last shop closed. I have traced the Salmons from Martin Salmon born in Ballinasloe in 1848, he joined the R.I.C. and had four children while based in Wexford (1869-90) he was then transferred to Naas,Co.Kildare ,at least one of his sons joined him there but i dont think i will find much more information without travelling to Kildare or Dublin , i will of course check census records when they come online (hopefully soon).I have got some information from the usual sources Griffiths,Bassetts,Cantwells,Church Records etc.I suppose what i am really looking for now is relatives or friends of these families that may have some information and view the boards, to contact me with anything of interest. Thanks again for taking the time to reply Christopher. Ger

Hi, my name is John O'Rourke, my ancestors Daniel Rouarke & Catherine Dunn with their 2 children left Ireland in 1836 on the Strathfieldsaye for tasmania. He was a house-smith & I believe he came from Wexford, if you have any information about them it would be greatly appreciated. I have just about their full history after they arrivedif anyone is interested. Thanks John

[Hi John, I am descended from Daniel and Catherine O'Rourke. I would love to know more of their roots in Ireland. Have a lot of the Tasmanian history. Was Daniel a convict? he is listed in one area as a convict on the Strathfieldsay. Ellebe
