looking for Robert Carr could be a coachman, wife could be a Mary. He died before his daughter (M) Alice Elizabeth Carr she (M) in 1871 she was a minor Father Robert a coachman.I have various Robert Carrs on the 1851 but NO COACHMAN. I have four (B) certs. for an Alice but no Father Robert, one has Mother Mary Ann Carr, NO husband/Father, (B) workhouse Coppice Row (now Farringdon Road).   Is he on the 1841 census??

1841 census Robert Carr

Who does 1841 census look ups??
I am trying to find a Robert Carr age between 25/35yrs, might have a wife Mary Ann, in area of Mddx. Stepney/Clerkenwell/Hoxton/Shoreditch/Stoke Newington, I know he (D) before Dec.1871 as his daughter Alice Elizabeth Carr was (M) 25/12/1871 she was a monor say Father deceased. Cannot find her (B) although I have sent for four (B) certs. no. Robert as Father, one has no Father Mother Mary Ann. it states he was a coachman. Thank you

Do you have Robert and Mary Ann on any other censuses?

When did they marry- and when was daughter Alice born.

There are a few Robert Carr's in 1841- but without being able to cross check him in later censuses it's rather difficult to say for definite.

To save yourself money-did you know that you can specify to only send the cert if fathers or mothers names tally.They refund you £4 if the parents names are not correct.

PS who did Alice marry in 1871-it could help us to pin point her in later censuses and therefore make it easier to narrow down her parents and birth.
