Lookup for marriage at St Nicholas Brighton 1835

I'm looking and hoping to find out who the witnesses were at the wedding of James Dancy to a Sarah Ede on 01 APR 1835 at Saint Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England
(Parish registers, 1558-1891  Church of England. St. Nicholas' Church (Brighton, Sussex))

(If I have posted this in the wrong place to find witnesses then I'll move it to parish register lookups  Grin)

I've had a look at the SMI and I'm afraid that there are no witnesses given.

James Dancy: bachelor
Sarah Ede; spinster
Both of this Parish
By Banns

He's not that same one that married Emma Ede in Ditchling a year later, is he  Huh

Hi Phil,

No the James that married Emma Ede was born abt 1797 in Slaugham.

I previously looked to see if the Emma was connected to the Sarah, but Emma was born abt 1797 in Keymer and Emma was born abt 1807 in Lindfield.

I have lots of ideas about this James, so you are welcome to pm me if you'd like more info.

Incidentally were there any witnesses at the Emma marriage?

There will have been witnesses recorded in the original register.  I'm afraid that in this particular case, you would need to examine the original entries to find out who they were.  The index sometimes records witnesses, but not always.  Undecided
