does anyone know about the children of adam dickson and janet maxwell    david 1808 mary 1810 susan 1810william 1821  i have susans death certificate but cant find the others adam was the son of david dickson and sussanah johnstone born 1772 mouswald  adam is the brother of mary dickson grandmother of previously searched janet kerr csc

susan dickson worked as adomestic servant in moffat and dumfries  she died in dumfries in july 1880 aged 72 years  single  53 st michaels st dumfries  adam dickson father dec janet dickson m/s maxwell dec.probable old age witness looks like george edgar royal bank dumfries csc

da Mary d Dumfries 14. 9. 1883 age 65.

gda Susan 16. 1. 1887

da Susan d Dumfries 31. 7. 1890 age 72.

Stone 236 is to the left of the Church as you enter the front gate.

thanks that is great i am having trouble finding these dicksons iwill have a look next time i am there i wonder where david went adams sister mary is my 5xgranny who had lots of children with george kerr  i havent found him yet but he is somewhere in mouswald some of the other dicksons might be in kirkcudbrightshire as well  the ones i have got is by following the name susan or variations of the name i think granny sussanah johnstone was well loved  christeen

i am now wondering who the parents of susan the grandaughter were william was single in 1851 worked as a blacksmith lived at carsethorn   mary and susan would be too old to have a child that age that only leaves david born 1808 i think he might be too old as well unless he had children then again there might be other children i have not found yet  csc

Hi Christeen,
                      I have found another daughter Elizabeth born to Adam Dickson and Janet Maxwell in Colvend 21st. August 1813. on IGI. it is written here as Dixon.

Sorry I left you with another little puzzle.

I have a feeling our families will cross paths somewhere, my Ancestors James Ker/Kerr Tailor in Kirkbean married to Catherine Wilson, having family in the same time period as your family of Dicksons.

found elizabeths birth and janets death  there has to be a daughter janet as well witness on death cert is janet cant read surname daughter janets parents are alexander maxwell llabourer and jane mcquhae  christeen

found janet and adams daughter janet to adam cassady 1841 kirkbean he is a merchant seaman    janets death 1858 dalbeattie age 34 adams death dalbeatie 1862 age  41 high st dalbeatie  descibed as seaman master  there are  several children still looking at them         elizabeth dickson is married to thomas wilson in queensberry st dumfries in 1871   have not found david  csc
