« on: Sunday 03 May 09 00:25 UTC (UK) »

Looking for Christina Strang born 1876 Stirling.
Parents - William Strang 1846 Port of Monteith and Janet ? born 1847 Bannockburn.
Nothing on IGI, have not tried SP as have run out of credits.
Have them on the 1881 census at Logie.
Any help appreciated..regards patvp

Thanks for that Gadget - came up trumps again.
Looks as tho'Wiliam dissapears, have him on the 1881 census at Logie.  1891 have Mrs Strang (housekeeper) and Christine as dressmake they are at 37 Cowan St Stirling .
It all gets confusing as William Strang was illegitimate son to Margaret Henderson and half brother to my g/grandfather James McKay who was also illegitimate..altho do have his father Alexander McKay...Talk about go round in circles, may never know who William's father was..will keep hunting.
Thanks again..patvp

Was just looking at the 1891 and wondered about William.  It might be worth looking for their deaths as I don't see Janet's birth/baptism on the IGI. The only one coming up was in Glasgow in 1844.
