Searching for Magee's
« on: Sunday 03 May 09 06:17 UTC (UK) »

Hi Everyone! I am starting a search for any Magee's that left Ireland, Dungannon, County Tyrone and moved to Australia... My mom's father, Patrick Magee had 5 brothers that moved to Australia and none of us know their names... He had a sister Mary Alice but she is gone now too... Patrick Magee is my grandfather and left Ireland and came to Canada around the 1930's. He was married to Bridget (Garrett) Magee. I have searched the internet to find a family tree and cannot place them anywhere. Very little information! But I am positive we have a great deal of relatives in Australia! Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Rootschat.  It will be difficult to trace your relatives without knowing their names but we'll do our best to help you. Names of living, or possibly living people, can't be posted here but some more details are needed to start so here some questions for you.
Do you know the names of your grandfather's parents?
When was your grandfather born?
Any idea if the brothers were older or younger than him? and did they leave Ireland before or after him?

Hi

Magee is a very popular name in Northern Ireland!

I am researching the Magee name and know of several others who also are.

Do you know what religion they practised?

Hope we can help you
