McINTYRE Family in Belleek, Scotstown, Monaghan
« on: Monday 04 May 09 01:29 UTC (UK) »

Searching for a Peter McIntyre who lived at 54 Mary St., Monaghan in an 1884 army enlistment record in Enniskillen for his son Thomas. Same record lists Thomas' Uncle "J. McIntyre in Belleek, Donegal". I presume this to mean Belleek, Co. Fermanagh. Thomas McIntyre reenlisted in 1889 in Liverpool, England as Arthur CLIFTON. Next of kin given as Mary DUFFIELD on the Antrim Road, Belfast. No idea as to the reason for the name change. On subsequent enlistments, Thomas gives his place of birth as Belleek and Scotstown.  He was born c. 1869.
If anyone has any directory/death/marriage record for this Peter McIntyre or this family name from this area, I would appreciate hearing from you.
I have copied this message to the Co. Monaghan board. Thanks.
