Hi, if anyone is visiting the Lewes Sussex record archive in the near future, I could really use any information that can be found on the 'Crossfield' name registered at St Nicholas Parish, Brighton from 1840 backwards!
It sounds like a lot but I'm thinking there won't actually be that many!

Hi Stevie
Did you know that if you join the Sussex Family History Group http://www.sfhg.org.uk/ you get access to their growing database of parish registers, St Nicholas amongst them.

Hiya, to be honest, I joined a while ago, and completely forgot until I saw your message! Maybe I'm being a clutz, but I can't seem to figure out how to access any records on their site as yet but I'll keep trying, thanks for the reminder!

Hi Stevie
It's my new favourite website, been finding loads of my family on there http://sfhg.frontisgroup.com/bin/index.php I think there is a link from the front page.
You need to sue the members only page username and password. St Nicholas has a good coverage of baptisms on there, No burials at the moment for the county.
