East Drayton - STANNILAND/STANILAND
« on: Tuesday 26 May 09 03:31 UTC (UK) »

My STANNILAND/STANILAND ancestors George and Hannah had at least seven children from 1774-1785 according to the IGI indexes, all baptized in East Drayton:
James, 1774
Mary, 1774
James 1776
George 1778
Elizabeth 1780
George 1783
Jeremiah 1785

I was wondering if anyone had burial indexes for te parish through this time and later as I'd be very interested in any burials recorded there. I have little information on this family, and no idea when George and Hannah died.

Any Staniland marriages would be useful also, as I have not been succesful finding a marraige for George and Hannah.

Any feedback/advice greatly appreciated. The second George is my ancestor.

many thanks,
matt

Firstly I find it is Thomas and Hannah not George....There is a marriage for Thomas Staniland and Hannah STEEMSON 24 August 1766 in West Markham.(IGI) I know there was a large contingent of this family in East Markham, 20 odd on the 1841 census for instance.
There is a baptism for a Thomas 1766 in East Markham 27 Dec (IGI)
Jeremiah death 12 Oct 1785
possible marriage for Elizabeth to Michael Markham 31 dec 1798 west Drayton.

Thanks for your insight Larkspur, much appreciated. This really helps tie things together for me. I think my priority now will be to try and get access to East Drayton parish records for burials.

cheers,
matt
