I have info on a branch of the Comrie family descending from Annie McEwan and Peter Comrie of Fowlis Wester (married 1815) at http://chrispatonscotland.tripod.com/id28.html.

My gggrandmother is Jean Stirling married to Peter Comrie (1847-1896) a shoemaker in Kilsyth.   His son was David Comrie  (1847-1895)  Davids son was James Comrie (1878-1927  )my grandfather. Could Christine and "Andrew" in Oz please get in touch as we could be related. Thanks in anticipation.  picamarra.

Hi Jubed
Yes I have your grandfather James but didn't have his middle name. So obviously your here so he must had a wife and children. Even though we are a fair bit apart we are still bloodline and would love to add all your details as well. You must be about my generation (a young person) as my grandfather was born about the same time as yours.
Please send me a PM
Regards

Hi Anderson,
My grandad James Anderson was married twice, first time to Helen Frew Clelland in
Kilsyth.They had 2 daughters,Agnes Tunnock in 1902 and Ellinor Bowe in1905.Unfortunately,
Helen died (perhaps in childbirth )in 1905 and James moved down to Distington Cumbria
between then and 1911 probably for work -he was a miner. He left Ellinor with relations and brought Agnes down when he married my grandma Isabella Smith in August 1912.They had 5
children Ellenor Douglas in 1914,Margaret Olivia in 1915, James Anderson(dad)in 1917,
William Hope in1919 and Richard Smith in1923.Agnes was brought up with them and I knew
her all her life.I never met the other sister (believe she married an R Shaw in 1933 and died
in 1960 in Scotland, don't know if she has any descendants, would love to as they would be
cousins. There were 3 in our family, my brother Christopher died in 1980 aged 26 and my other bro is picamarra. Ellenor D 1914 had a son and daughter (both living) Margaret Olivia
had a son  and Richard a daughter. Agnes had a son Jim (J A again )now deceased
