McAnlay ?
« on: Wednesday 06 May 09 06:20 UTC (UK) »

08 Oct 1835 William Marshall married Charlotte McAnlay at Alloa Clacks.  Her date of birth is given a 1808 at Saline in Fife, this is on various census's.  Problem is I can find noone of that name..have tried various spellings i.e. McAulay etc but am getting nowhere fast, does anyone have any other ideas please.
Regards patvp

ALL born Clacks. except Peter.

1851: Candle Steet - Alloa, Clackmannanshire

Hi Ambly - Well the McAuley's did not think too much about registering their children, apart from Charlotte can't find any of them in Fife or Alloa.
Interesting tho' checked out Jean Michie, the only birth I can find in Alloa is 1782 which is plausible, proving it is another thing ?? parents are James Michie and Charlotte Paterson AND they are my grandparents x5  Grin Cheesy Shocked
Has yet to be proven but I will bet a penny to a pound on it !!!
Cheers and thanks..patvp
