HORTON/PALMER Marriage
« on: Wednesday 06 May 09 17:09 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help?

I have a william Horton b1821 Cornwood, Devon marrying Elizabeth Palmer b1823 in Antony, Torpoint, Cornwall in 1845. I'm trying to find out the name & occupation of William's father. There are 3 William's born in Cornwood in 1820/21 & it's impossible to tell them apart!

Unless someone has access to PRs you might need to purchase the marriage cert.

William HORTON and Elizabeth PALMER, Dec qtr 1845, St Germans, 9 134

I don't know if this is of use to you but in the 1851 census (Freecen) Elizabeth Horton born Antony, age 28 is a seaman's wife and she is living with her son William age 4 born Antony and her father William Palmer and other family members.

The only William Horton that I can find in 1841 is 20 and ag Lab who was born out of county. He was living in Civil Parish: Antony Ecclesiastical Parish

hi

In 1841 there is a William Horton 20, living in Cornwood with  Alexander (50, Farmer) and Jane (40) plus Ann20, John 15, Maria 12 and Haly 8.

I see in further censuses that William and Elizabeth have a son named Alexander bc 1861 Kent, St Peters.

possible link with the names?

will look further
