HELP find EVANS family from Monaghan Town- COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 07 May 09 01:26 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
Can anyone help me,please?
I am looking to find my grandmother, called Rosaleen Evans, from Dublin Street,Monaghan Town,Monaghan,Ireland, who has disappeared after 1923.
I can not find any trace of either her or her sister,Mary Catherine
I am looking for advice of where to look next?
My father was born in 1923 to Rosaleen, unmarried and then put up for adoption
Then Rosaleen and her older sister disappear, completely.
I would appreciate any help or guidance given.

Thank you

Family

there is a possible match for the birth of Rosaleen/Rosalind on the familysearch Irish Civil index :

Name: Rosalind Evans / Reg. district: Monaghan
year/quarter: Oct - Dec 1897  / Volume: 3 / Page: 189

there's also a birth of a Mary Anne Evans in the same district in 1894, could this be Minnie?

Name: Mary Anne Evans    / reg. district: Monaghan
year/qtr: Apr - Jun 1894   /  Volume: 3 / Page: 227

there are also a number of other Evans registrations in the same district around that time.

Acrei

I would really appreciate any help you can give.
The Evans family, lived in number 26,Dublin Street, according to the 1911 census.
I have hit a brick wall on were they went to after that 1923 or any information about them.
Thank you

Gerry
