Any information on Janet K Ferguson married an Archiebald Tait from Ardrossan. He was a butcher in 1891. They were both 23 when they married in 1891. Appreciate any news.

Hi eiggam
Have you got their marriage cert.? This would have details on her parents' names which would help you trace her back to her family. In the 1901 census transcript, she shows as born in Stirling Lanarkshire which doesn't make sense as they are different parishes and is probably a mis-transcription.

Hi Ev Yes, just got there. I agree that entry looks promising.
This may be Janet before her wedding on the 1891 census:
Geo Ferguson 53, Game Keeper Domestic, b. Barrhead, Renfrew Janet Kirkwood 63, sister in law, b. Cambuslang, Lanark Geo Ferguson 27, Game Keeper Domestic, b. Cambuslang, Lanark Christina Ferguson 26, b. Skirling, Peebles Thos Ferguson 25, b. Skirling, Peebles Janet K Ferguson 23, cook domestic, b. Skirling, Peebles

Eiggam, the marriage cert for Janet would let you confirm what Ev and I have found so far but looks promising

A free search on SP only brings up 1 Janet Tait - other name Ferguson dying between 1901 and 2006 - she dies in 1919.
Regards, Steve.
