Looking for anything on this lady. she was born in Walls and Flotta c1775, married Peter Johnston and died Nov 1851 in Walls and Flotta
Any help much appreciated

Hi again, according to the website your Elspet was born 1773 Wals & Flotta and married 1769. Have you looked at the cursiter website?

You are a fantastic help. thank you very much. Have looked at the Orkney FH site and downloaded some files from walt Custer's site but they will take some perusing so I will get back to you. in the meantime I will look at the Cursitor site

Had a look but cant find what I was looking at last night, but I have had a look at the 1841 census for Walls & Flotta and it has Peter Johnston aged 85 fisherman, Saltness, Walls and Elspet Johnston aged 75 so that would make her birth date around 1766 and his around 1756

Peter and Elspet are both on the 1851 census he is 96yrs and she is 93yrs. Also on the same page are Margaret Sutherland born 1812 and her family

Do you have any other Elspeth Sutherlands?
I have an Elspet Sutherland, possibly born at Flaws around 1768.

She married William Waals (aka Walls) in 1797 on  South Ronaldsay island and they had 3 kids - daughter elizabeth walls (born and died 1797) son Sutherland Walls born 1802 and another daughter named Elizabeth Walls born 1805 - all born on South Ronaldsay.

I have no information in elspet sutherland or william walls - would you have any info?
